Located on a challenging, compact site along a busy one-way street in the heart of Geelong, The Arborist was a complex, design-driven hospitality project delivered across two stages. Designed by Dan Van Architects and FPPV Architects, the concept centred around retaining two existing mature ash trees, which became a defining feature of the development. The entire building was designed and engineered around these trees, creating a unique architectural outcome that integrates the natural environment with a contemporary urban venue. Inside, the project features high-end bar and dining spaces, bespoke timber detailing, premium finishes and carefully curated lighting to enhance the overall atmosphere. The result is an innovative and highly considered hospitality destination that seamlessly blends design, functionality and character.

Communication was key and Ged was on our wave length. His calm manner and nothing is to hard attitude allowed us to achieve a tremendous venue in Geelong. Ged has a network of trades he engages with and they are as professional and diligent as North Building. Look forward to dealing with Ged on future projects.
